17th August 2013 Windsurfing: Felixstowe-Dip Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: chop, smooth, waves Air Temperature: 19 Sea Temperature: 17.2 Weather: sun n cloud Max Speed: 24.5/2sec (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 18.8 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Started with 118/6.9m until after few runs overpowered. Sea smooth rollers and good fun. Down to 96l/6m. Sea choppy off Dip and tried other side of sand bar off Bawdsey. Some rolling waves and near bar small waves. Nice time, nicely powered up. Wind appeared to be dieing so headed backover bar, thinking that looks shallow then grounded out and kiter made sure I was OK ploughing face down. Well overpowered so down to 85l/4.7m. After 30 mins came into flatten sail but wind went offshore about 4pm, pity as sea was getting nice with nice breaking rollwers and smoother seas. |
